Biaxin XL and regular Biaxin (clarithromycin) tablets
There are some important differences between the new Biaxin XL and regular Biaxin (clarithromycin) tablets.
Biaxin XL is a new 500 mg extended-release tablet for once a day dosing.
It will be promoted as more convenient and better tolerated. The extended-release tabs seem to be less likely to cause GI side effects and the metallic taste.
