Bisphosphonates can cause eye problems.

  There are reports of patients developing blurred vision, eye pain, and inflammation while taking a bisphosphonate.

  Most cases are in patients getting IV Aredia. But it can happen with patients taking oral Fosamax and Actonel.

  It's thought that bisphosphonates can cause ocular inflammation by increasing the production of inflammatory mediators. Experts suspect this is a class effect.
