Lilly will soon introduce Humalog (insulin lispro)...the first new insulin to hit the market in 14 years.
It'll be available next month by prescription only. The FDA wants more data on this new insulin before they will allow OTC use.
Humalog is made by switching two amino acids on the human insulin chain...lysine and proline. Hence the name insulin "lispro."
