Common symptom of menopause is oral discomfort
Many women don't realize a common symptom of menopause is oral discomfort...pain, burning, dry mouth, and sensitive gums.
This is probably due to a decline in estrogen. It may also be seen in women taking the estrogen blocker, tamoxifen (Nolvadex).
The oral mucosa can be sensitive to estrogen...similar to the vaginal mucosa.
