Vioxx (rofecoxib) can increase blood pressure MORE than Celebrex (celecoxib)

The two studies compare Vioxx and Celebrex in elderly osteoarthritis patients who also have hypertension.

The studies suggest that Vioxx is more likely to cause edema and increase systolic blood pressure...about 3 mmHg on average.
