The tragic death of little Emily will lead to a rash of stricter new state requirements for pharmacy technicians.
"Emily's Law" in Ohio will require all techs to pass a board-approved exam. Next year, Florida will require techs to register with the pharmacy board and get live CE, law CE, and med errors CE.
Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC all have new laws...or laws in the works...to require training, certification, registration, and/or CE.
