You'll soon see ceftaroline (Teflaro) a new IV cephalosporin that kills methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA).

It's sometimes called a fifth-generation cephalosporin...due to its activity against MRSA.

But it doesn't have the extended gram-negative coverage that you might expect from a higher generation cephalosporin.
