Schering will soon market Rebetol (ribavirin) by itself...to be used with either Intron-A or PEG-Intron for chronic hepatitis C.
Rebetol capsules were initially marketed only in the Rebetron combo pack with Intron-A. A separate package makes it easier to also prescribe Rebetol with PEG-Intron.
PEG-Intron is a longer-acting form of Intron-A. Patients inject PEG-Intron just once a week...instead of 3 times a week like Intron-A.
