Reps will promote Kapvay (clonidine extended-release) for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children.
Kapvay is different than the immediate-release clonidine that's used to enhance the efficacy of stimulants or treat side effects such as tics and insomnia.
Kapvay is used once or twice daily like immediate-release clonidine. But Kapvay has lower peak blood levels, which MIGHT reduce side effects...but this hasn't been proven.
