confusion about generics for bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban, Budeprion, Buproban, etc)
There's lots of confusion about generics for bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban, Budeprion, Buproban, etc).
It's hard to keep track of which ones are equivalent since some generics have their own "brand names" or use different drug suffixes.
The Orange Book adds to the confusion. It lists all the long-acting generics as "extended-release" instead of "SR" or "XL" like Wellbutrin. This makes it hard to tell which ones are appropriate for once- or twice-daily dosing.
